After spending 16 years as a member of the Ole Miss coaching staff, Derick Nix has left an indelible mark on the program. As the Rebels’ wide receivers coach, Nix played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of numerous standout players, while also helping to establish Ole Miss as a consistent force in the Southeastern Conference.
Nix’s tenure at Ole Miss was marked by numerous highlights, including the development of several NFL-caliber wide receivers. Under his guidance, players like A.J. Brown, D.K. Metcalf, and Elijah Moore all flourished, earning All-SEC honors and eventually being drafted into the NFL.
“Derick Nix is one of the best coaches I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with,” said Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin. “His ability to connect with players and help them reach their full potential is truly exceptional. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to be felt for years to come.”
