SHOCKING DECISION: HYESEONG KIM INKS 3-YEAR DEAL WITH LOS ANGELES WORTH… see… more
Los Angeles, CA – The Los Angeles Dodgers have made a major splash in the international free agent market, signing South Korean superstar Hyeseong Kim to a three-year, $12.5 million contract.
Kim, a 27-year-old outfielder, has been one of the most dominant players in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) over the past five seasons, playing for the Kiwoom Heroes. He has been a four-time KBO All-Star and has won two Golden Glove awards for his defensive play.
“We are thrilled to welcome Hyeseong Kim to the Dodgers organization,” said Dodgers President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman. “He is an incredibly talented player who has consistently performed at a high level in the KBO. We believe he has the potential to make a significant impact on our team.”
Kim’s contract is a significant investment for the Dodgers, but it’s one that they believe will pay off in the long run. He is expected to compete for a starting outfield spot with the Dodgers, and his versatility and defensive skills make him a valuable asset to the team.
“I am very excited to join the Dodgers and start this new chapter in my career,” said Kim. “I am looking forward to working with the coaching staff and my new teammates to help the team win.”
The signing of Kim is a major coup for the Dodgers, who have been actively pursuing international talent in recent years. He is the latest in a line of Korean players to join the team, following in the footsteps of pitchers Chan Ho Park and Hyun-Jin Ryu.
“Hyeseong Kim is an exceptional player who will be a great addition to our team,” said Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts. “We are excited to have him on board and look forward to seeing him contribute to our success.”
With the addition of Kim, the Dodgers’ outfield depth has taken a significant boost. He will compete with incumbent starters Mookie Betts, Cody Bellinger, and Chris Taylor for playing time, and his presence will give Roberts more flexibility to mix and match his lineup.
The Dodgers’ front office has been busy this offseason, making a number of moves to bolster their roster. The signing of Kim is just the latest example of their commitment to building a championship-caliber team.
