Sydney, NSW – The Sydney Roosters are pleased to announce that NRLW Head Coach John Strange has extended his contract with the club. Strange, who has been at the helm of the Roosters’ NRLW team since its inception in 2018, has agreed to a new deal that will see him remain with the club until at least the end of the 2026 season.

“We’re thrilled to have John extend his contract with the Roosters,” said Sydney Roosters CEO, Joe Kelly. “John has been instrumental in the development and success of our NRLW team, and we’re excited to have him continue to lead our women’s program.”

Strange, a highly respected coach with a wealth of experience in the NRL and NRLW competitions, has been a key factor in the Roosters’ success in the women’s game. Under his guidance, the Roosters have won two NRLW premierships and have consistently been one of the top teams in the competition.

“I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved as a team, and I’m excited to continue to be a part of the Roosters’ NRLW program,” Strange said. “We’ve got a talented group of players, and I’m confident that we can continue to be successful and compete for premierships in the years to come.”

The extension of Strange’s contract is a significant boost for the Roosters, who are committed to continuing to grow and develop their women’s program. The club has invested heavily in its NRLW team, and the re-signing of Strange is a key part of its strategy to remain competitive in the women’s game.

“John is a highly respected coach, and his experience and expertise have been invaluable to our NRLW team,” Kelly said. “We’re committed to continuing to support and develop our women’s program, and we’re excited to have John continue to lead our team.”

The Roosters’ NRLW team will commence its pre-season training program in the coming weeks, and Strange is looking forward to getting back to work with his team.

“We’ve got a lot of work to do before the start of the season, but I’m confident that we can continue to be successful and compete for premierships,” Strange said. “I’m excited to get back to work with the team and start preparing for the 2025 season.”
