JUST IN:DAN CAMPBELL CONFIDENT IN LIONS’ PREPARATION FOR THE…
Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell expressed his confidence in his team’s preparation for their Week 17 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
“I’m proud of the way our guys have worked this week,” Campbell said during his Friday press conference. “We’ve had a great week of practice, and I think we’re as prepared as we can be for this game.”
The Lions are looking to bounce back from a tough loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 16, and Campbell believes his team has the right mindset to take on the 49ers.
“We’ve got a tough opponent coming in, but we’re not intimidated,” Campbell said. “We’re going to go out there and give it everything we’ve got. We’re going to play with passion, energy, and toughness.”
The 49ers are one of the top teams in the NFC, with a stout defense and a high-powered offense led by quarterback Brock Purdy. But Campbell believes his team has the talent and depth to match up with the 49ers.
“We’ve got a good game plan in place, and I think our guys are excited to go out there and execute it,” Campbell said. “We’re going to need to play a complete game – offense, defense, and special teams – but I think we’re capable of doing that.”
Campbell also praised his team’s resilience and ability to bounce back from adversity.
“This team has shown time and time again that we can take a punch and keep on coming,” Campbell said. “We’re not going to back down from this challenge. We’re going to go out there and give it everything we’ve got.”
The Lions will face off against the 49ers at Ford Field on Sunday, with kickoff set for 1:00 PM EST. Campbell is expecting a loud and energetic crowd, and he’s confident that his team will feed off that energy.
“We’re going to need our fans to be loud and proud on Sunday,” Campbell said. “We’re going to go out there and give it everything we’ve got, and we’re going to need our fans to be right there with us.”
