Cyclocross fans have much to look forward to this season as Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert, two of the sport’s biggest names, have revealed their competition schedules. While Van der Poel plans to participate in 11 events, Van Aert will compete in six. Both riders are adjusting their cyclocross calendars to balance their preparations for the 2025 spring Classics on the road.
Mathieu van der Poel’s Schedule
Van der Poel is set to kick off his campaign on December 22 at the UCI Cyclocross World Cup in Zonhoven. Over the course of seven weeks, he aims to contest 11 events, culminating in the World Championships in Liévin on February 2. With a potential seventh world title in sight, Van der Poel looks to match Erik De Vlaeminck’s record.
However, he will not be racing in the World Cup round in Benidorm, opting instead for other key events.

Van Aert, returning from a knee injury sustained during the Vuelta a España, has carefully crafted a six-race cyclocross program. His first appearance will be at the Superprestige in Mol on December 23. Unlike Van der Poel, Van Aert will skip the World Championships in February, focusing instead on recovery and road season preparations.
