Collingwood, VIC – In a significant development, the Collingwood Football Club has announced that Brendon Bolton will oversee the men’s football program in the absence of Football Manager, Graham Wright. Bolton, the General Manager of Football, Coaching, and Leadership, will take on the additional responsibilities, effective immediately.

The move comes as Wright takes a temporary leave of absence, and the club has moved quickly to ensure continuity and stability within the football department. Bolton’s appointment is seen as a natural fit, given his extensive experience and expertise in football operations.

“We’re fortunate to have someone of Brendon’s caliber and experience to step into this role,” said Collingwood CEO, Mark Anderson. “He’s been an integral part of our football department, and we’re confident that he’ll provide the necessary leadership and guidance during Graham’s absence.”

Bolton, a highly respected figure in Australian Rules football, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role. He has previously held various coaching and football management positions, including a stint as the senior coach of the Carlton Football Club.

“I’m looking forward to taking on this additional responsibility and working closely with our coaches, players, and staff,” said Bolton. “We’ve got a talented and dedicated group of people here at Collingwood, and I’m excited to contribute to the team’s success in any way I can.”

Under Bolton’s guidance, the Magpies will look to continue their strong start to the season. The team has shown promising signs in recent weeks, with several young players emerging as potential stars of the future.

While Wright’s absence is expected to be temporary, the club has not provided a specific timeline for his return. In the meantime, Bolton will work closely with the coaching staff, led by Senior Coach Craig McRae, to ensure that the team remains focused and driven.
