In a major coup for the Collingwood Football Club, Charlie Gardiner has been appointed as the club’s new Executive General Manager of Football. The highly respected and experienced football administrator will commence his new role immediately, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Magpies.
Gardiner, who has spent over two decades working in various roles within the AFL industry, is widely regarded as one of the most respected and accomplished football administrators in the country. His impressive resume includes stints as the General Manager of Football at the Geelong Football Club and the Gold Coast Suns, as well as a role as the AFL’s General Manager of Football Operations.
“We are thrilled to welcome Charlie to the Collingwood Football Club,” said Collingwood President, Barry Carp. “His exceptional leadership skills, football acumen, and experience make him the ideal candidate to lead our football department. We are confident that Charlie will play a key role in driving our club’s success both on and off the field.”
As Executive General Manager of Football, Gardiner will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the club’s football operations, including the coaching staff, player list management, and football administration. He will work closely with Senior Coach, Craig McRae, and the entire football department to drive the club’s football strategy and achieve success.
